Wrappings and Windings

One of the weave tutors taught us a way of simplifying an object into its constituent colours and textures by making a wrapping/winding. A variety of materials (threads, yarns, cloth, paper, wire etc) are wrapped around a piece of stiff card to produced an abstracted version of an object. It is a form of drawing from observation, and is useful for making colour palettes and as a source of inspiration for weaving, among other things. I really enjoyed this as I like making things more abstract and I love working with colours and textures.
